After over three months, I finally got back to the gym this week. It actually feels so good to be back!
This cardio drumming class is my fave. You might be able to tell by the stupid look on my face or my tee shirt that says “I like to bang” - I also love to drum 😜.
I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but several years ago I went to school to study integrative nutrition and earned a degree as a certified health coach. The program itself was amazing. It taught me things about life, health, and nutrition. Not only did I receive a wealth of knowledge and education, but I learned more about myself.
Ultimately, learned that I make a shitty health coach but I’ll save that for another day 😂
I also learned that nutrition is so much more than what we eat. Being healthy is not only about food and exercise, but about how our overall happiness affects our bodies as well.
Mental health and physical health are tightly knit and need to work together. Treat yourself. Do things (within reason) that make you feel good and don’t allow yourself to feel bad about it. You need it. You can’t love others and be there for them if you’re not even there for yourself.
As a mother especially, it’s hard not to feel selfish at first. For me personally, I learned that physical exercise helps me to relieve stress and have more focus ... And a tiny bit more patience. (Still working on that one).
Don’t tell me you don’t have time for the gym - or a haircut - or a drink with friends. Whatever it is- You do. MAKE THE TIME. You deserve it. Don’t say you can’t afford it. You can exercise in your home for free. Pick up a bottle of two buck chuck. Just find a way.
NO EXCUSES. *Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Try to work every day towards being the person you want to be. Some days you might fail. That’s fine. JUST KEEP GOING
*This logic right here along with my lack of patience is the main reason I made a terrible health coach 😂
**enjoy this super dorky ridiculous photo waaaayyyy outside my comfort zone
