The weather here out west was perfect this weekend! We wanted to take the opportunity to go on a family bike ride but my kids are apparently against doing something so ‘lame’ and ‘boring’ with their parents so… we went without them. Jokes’ on them - we had more fun without them anyway!
Just kidding, it would’ve been nice to be together but we had a great time regardless. Anyway…I asked the hubs to take a photo so I could share with you. So, I present to you: Me…on a bike. You’re welcome.
I figured it would be cool to share how I actually ride a bike since it’s much different than mostly everyone else. In this photo I am actually riding a friend’s bike that my husband offered to fix up. (He’s amazing, have you heard? 🙄😜😂)
My own bike is similar but very low to the ground. I’ll take another photo when I’m on my own just so you can see.
Someone once asked for advice to give someone who is newly injured and my number one suggestion was to get back to their regular routine and the activities they did before.
I can’t say I was ever the most active kid to begin with, but as I got older I learned to appreciate how nice it is to be out in nature. Being on a bike gives me the advantage to ride with others and move on the same path at the same pace. (for the most part - I’m kind of slow in general either way). I also love any opportunity to be out and about and NOT in my wheelchair. Not in a vain way, it just gives me the sense of having much more freedom.
This photo isn’t great, but it does the job. My husband suggested going topless to spice it up but I’m thinking better lighting and filters might just be more effective in producing a high quality photo to share 😂👍🏻
